Motorola to launch quad-band phone in India

NEW DELHI: Motorola, a leading mobile handset maker on Monday announced the launch of the first Quad-band phone, V600 in India. The uniqueness of quad-band technology lies in its seamless roaming facility across 800, 900, 1800 and 1900 GSM bands, making it functional across the globe. Targeted at international travellers, the Motorola V600 harnesses the latest technology providing seamless connectivity along with the Personal Information Management (PIM) functionality, which keeps the user up-to-date on important meetings and tasks. On the other hand the ability to sync with POP3 and IMAP4 e-mail accounts allows professionals to keep track of their business mails, says a Company press release here. The V600 further accelerates the wireless experience by offering the latest in communications: Bluetooth compatibility, MP3 capability, an integrated camera, video playback, and discreet color notification lights that assign different colors, ringtones to one's preferred contact. Advanced messaging features and downloadable games and applications are other features of this phone which sports a metal exterior with clamshell design. "The Motorola V600 marks a new beginning for the Indian consumer. It promises to keep every mobile executive connected and entertained while on the move across the globe," said Percy P Batlivala, General Manager (South-West Asia), Personal Communication Sector, Motorola. The V600 will retail at Rs 20,495 in India.
