Subra Suresh: Subra Suresh, the first Indian-origin president of Carnegie Mellon is one of the few who had the privilege to honor and head a top global university. He was also the first Asian to head the National Science Foundation, the $7 billion agency that funds all non-medical fundamental research in America. He is also the youngest Indian professor to be recruited to the engineering faculty at Brown University.Amid all this, Suresh conducted top-notch research in material science and engineering, which has brought him a series of awards.
