Bangalore: Eric Schmidt, Executive Chairman, Google said on Saturday that Google is totally committed to its growing television business and looking forward to many more partners to join it soon. Many U.S. networks blocked Google TV in United States, which allows viewers to combine television and Web content on TV screens through browsers and it received indifferent reviews. Eric said, "We're absolutely committed to staying, to improving Google TV," He added that new companies will soon be joining existing partners Logitech and Sony for the coming version. Logitech manufactures webcams, keyboards, speakers and computer mice. He said, "I believe that they're both going to be on board and I believe there are many more coming. Wait shortly for an announcement" Google aims at extending its $28 billion online advertising business to the television arena. Though it owns the world's well known online video site, You Tube, but has never announced any profits from that business since buying it in 2006. In a keynote speech on Friday, Eric said that he expects to launch Google TV in Europe by early next year. He mentioned that Google is yet to resolve its issues with U.S. networks NBC, CBS and ABC and hoping that the British launch won't face any such problem. He said, "We certainly have talked to them about reversing their position and we certainly hope that won't happen here" Television industry fears that Google will steal their advertising revenues without providing towards the high cost programming. Internet can expand the advertising market by providing effective advertisements, argued Google. It will also encourage the companies to spend more.
