More Indian cos to be listed in NYSE

MUMBAI: The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) stated that they are expecting more Indian companies to get enlisted in it within the next 12 months. Announcing this NYSE’s Chief Executive Officer, John A Thain said: “The NYSE is poised to get several Indian companies listed within the next one year.” Addressing a program organized by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on ‘Developments on the U.S. capital markets and implications for India’, he said at present the numbers of entities listed with NYSE is eight and in the current year itself a couple of entities might be listed taking the number to ten. Thain said: “There is a high liquidity in the Indian market. Hence these companies are not interested to raise capital from foreign markets.” On top of it, these were very successful and generating cash. Stating that many companies have shown interest to participation in the NTSE, but he denied giving further details.
