MUMBAI:Global personal and business software leader Microsoft Corporation Thursday announced hosting in India Asia's largest IT event, Tech-Ed 2006, to showcase upcoming technologies like Windows Vista, Office 12 and Windows CE 6.0-Yamazaki. Targeted at developers, IT professionals, and software architect communities, Tech-Ed 2006 is aimed at providing insights into how to build, deploy, secure and manage solutions using the full range of current and upcoming Microsoft products and technologies. "For the first time, Microsoft is hosting Tech-Ed in six cities. The event will commence on June 5 in New Delhi, and will then travel to Pune, Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad before concluding in Bangalore on June 24," said a Microsoft India statement released here. IT leaders including Wipro, TCS, Infosys, HCL, HP, Accenture and Cognizant are expected to participate. The sponsors for the event are HP, Intel, Perot Systems and Dr. Dobbs Journal. "Tech-Ed has been very successful since its inception a decade ago. Based on constant feedback from the community, this year we are implementing a new format where different modules have been created for developers, IT professionals and software architects to suit their individual preferences and technology needs," said Sheila Gulati, director (development and platform evangelism) of Microsoft India. "This will give each community an opportunity to interact with peers and connect with Microsoft partners, experts and industry gurus in their field. "With the help of technical training and resources, the attendees will gain valuable insights into current and upcoming products and will be provided with inputs on how they can enhance their productivity while working on the Microsoft platform," she added.
