Microsoft to add 200 skill development centres in India

Bangalore: In an attempt to strengthen its growing corporate social responsibility efforts, Microsoft India is planning to add 200 skill development centers by the end this year. Microsoft has over 1400 existing centers in India now, reports the Business Standard. Speaking at an NGO connection workshop, Vikas Goswami, Director (CSR), Microsoft India, said, "We have already trained 300,000 students under the Microsoft Unlimited Potential (MSUP) programme, of which 150,000 have already been employed." The workshop was organized by Aide et Action International South Asia (AEAI) on enhancing livelihood opportunities through information and communication technology (ICT) at ni-msme.
