Microsoft launches Office programmes in Hindi

NEW DELHI: Microsoft Corp. India, the local arm of the global IT giant, Monday launched its Office programmes in Hindi to tap the central and state governments and other markets. The product includes a Hindi language interface and supports nine Indian languages, a company statement here said. The two editions of the product, Office Hindi Professional and Office Hindi Standard, will be available through Microsoft's regular sales channels, the statement added. "Our local language initiatives are aimed at helping Indian users realise the same benefits of IT as their peers the world over," said Microsoft Corp. India managing director Rajiv Kaul. "Office Hindi combines a world class computing experience with the comfort and familiarity of the Hindi language and we are confident of the value it will offer users in India," he added. Kaul said Microsoft's main target customers for Office Hindi would include central and state governments, public sector undertakings, the banking industry, educational institutes, and the local developer community.
