Maxtor opens regional office in India

BANGALORE: Maxtor Corporation, leader in hard disk drives and consumer storage products, announced today the opening of the company's India office in Mumbai. "The opening of the Mumbai office reflects Maxtor's commitment to our customers and channel partners in India," said Yogesh Kamat, Country Manager, Indian Subcontinent, Maxtor Corporation. "Expanding our presence in the regional market will enable us to work more closely with our valuable partners and customers, offering local support and utilizing an improved understanding of the market to better focus on their diverse storage requirements." India, one of the fastest growing markets in Asia today presents significant opportunities for Maxtor. According to research firm Forrester, India is projected to add about 80 million new PCs to its marketplace over the next five years. The demand for storage devices and storage-based digital entertainment devices is set to increase, further boosted by the increasing trend of consumers adopting digital lifestyles. In addition to the new office location, Maxtor has two service centers in Mumbai, and one each in New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad.
