Maruti Suzuki clocks profit of $447 Mn

Mumbai: The country's largest small car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki has posted a net profit of 
17.89 billion for the financial year 2008 as compared to 15.88 billion (around $447 million) for the previous year.
The total income of the auto giant for the financial year has increased from 154.89 billion for the year ended March 31, 2007 to 191.12 billion this year.
However, the company has posted a decline in net profit at 2.97 billion for the quarter ended March 31, 2008, down from 4.48 billion for the same period last year.
Total income has increased from 46.36 billion for the quarter ended March 31, 2007 to 50.69 billon for the quarter ended March 31, 2008.
