Marketing Experts Get Together @Strategic Marketing Summit

NEW DELHI: Each technological triumph in various fields has written a new story for every Marketer. With every new product, new concept, new idea, begins a new journey for a Marketer which either breaks the old rule or builds on to make a new one. The Strategic Marketing Summit, Delhi saw a 360 degree view from Marketing professionals, diversified by their sectors, products and consumers but linked by one single thread: Passion to reach out and satisfy their END consumers! The Keynote session was initiated by Manoj Chandra, Vice President- Consumer Goods Bata. He focused on 'Impact of Emerging Technology in Marketing'. The topic itself speaks volumes.He said "Like the old saying goes "It's not the strongest or the wisest of people survive but the one who adapts to the change. Similarly the way how Products have been marketed earlier and the way it has been marketed today is only due to the impact of technology in our emerging markets!" For the first panel 'Digital Marketing: Innovative strategy' Mukund Mohan, CEO, Jivity, had some very obvious pointer for the Indian marketers, he said "There's a dearth of knowledge of digital marketing overall among smaller companies and so there a big need for continued meetings and events such as these". To add onto this Kunal Arora, Head- Digital, Hungama Digital Media Entertainment said "Digital is a must but it needs to be looked at from a far more strategic point rather than a tactical perspective. There are many platforms that are present but companies need not be present on all of them. Its better to phase out and strategically look at all the platforms". For the panel "Mobile Marketing: True Mobile Strategy" Sanjeev Thukral, Head of Telecom & Media business, Head of Testing Service and Off-shore Director Europe Steria India said "In terms of current and future trends, its applicability to Indian Market and how an effective mobile marketing strategy can be devised for an Indian business". Over all the Strategic Marketing Summit Delhi was entirely a new platform for the budding Marketers to bring their diverse thoughts, different experiences, thought provoking new ideas. Different industries have valuable lessons to offer to others on what they do very well. One has to be vigilantly learning from all sources to tap into them successfully.
