Maples to train 1,000 Japanese engineers

CHENNAI: The Chennai-based Maples ESM Technologies is set to train over 1,000 Japanese engineers over the next 18 months as part of an exclusive tie-up with the Kanazawa government province in Japan.
The current visit by a Japanese delegation to the city headed by Project director Mino Toshio is aimed at firming up the arrangement.
Maples, a remote IT infrastructure management company, with bases in the US and Japan has positioned itself as a mid-segment player and is concentrating on companies in the two countries. It has enterprise systems management and enterprise application services as its key focus areas.
Maples chairman N Ram Subramani said that its training division serves as a feeder to support these two consulting practices.
Maples is also looking at ESM consulting business from small and medium sized companies based out of Japan. The company, which clocked a turnover of about $3m in '05, is aiming to close this calendar year with a topline of $10 million.
