Bangalore: Wanna build device-agnostic mobile widgets and reach maximum mobile users? You can build your widgets in Yahoo!'s Blueprint platform. Using a simple yet powerful language based on W3C XForms developers can design and host their Blueprint markup which Yahoo! will deliver to 1000s of different mobile devices. In a technology seminar held in Sasken Technologies campus, organized by MOMO Bangalore on Monday evening, Manish Dalal, Senior Director - Mobile Products presented the advantages of the this Mobile Development Platform to the enthusiastic techies. "The process is analogous to building a mobile website - you can use any server technology you like such as Apache, IIS, Java or PHP. Just return Blueprint XML and we do the rest," informed Dalal. Interestingly, Blueprint services run on the same platform that powers Yahoo!'s own mobile services, including oneSearch, oneConnect and even its mobile homepage. "Not only is it responsive and powerful, but also we supply you with analytics to help you find out what makes your customers tick," added Dalal. Captivatingly, One can now make real slick mobile apps pretty easily. "In fact, this could be a short-cut development tool for the iPhone too! The latest revision to the Blueprint language is rolling out first on the web and at the same time we're addressing the single biggest wish that developers had - to be able to host Blueprint outside of the Yahoo! homepage," informed Dalal. Yahoo! claims that with Blueprint1.1 they have not only enhanced the language with many new visual tags, video transcoding and better support for advertising formats, but also added instant deployment.
