Magnasoft to double workforce in nine months

BANGALORE: GIS solutions provider Magnasoft Consulting India Pvt Ltd plans to double its worforce to 200 in the next nine months due to increased focus on business opportunities in Europe.
"We are adding around twenty people every month. We should increase our number to 200 in nine months," Magnasoft Consulting Chairman and CEO Abhishekh Mukherjee told reporters.
The privately-held Bangalore-based Magnasoft announced an alliance with FIT Conseil, a GIS solutions firm in France, for tapping the European market.
"We are already working jointly with FIT and around 40 people are developing applications for our customers," Magnasoft Consulting Managing Director S Sridhar said.
FIT Conseil will partner with Magnasoft for projects in application development, GIS consulting, remote sensing and digital mapping and would span segments such as urban planning, utilities, transportation, water and waste water.
"We partnered with Magnasoft due to their application skills and manpower," FIT Group President Eric Thalgott said.
Besides France, the partners will target customers in Portugal, Hungary, United Kingdom, Ireland and Estonia.
Magnasoft is developing applications for land information project for four US counties, web-based GIS portal for Karnataka Housing Board and for the Australian mining industry, Sridhar said.
