MTNL to launch TV on Mobile

New Delhi: Mahanagar Telephone Nigam (MTNL) has announced the launch of mobile TV service called 'MTNL-TV' on Mobile handsets. This service will be available to the MTNL customers in Delhi and the NCR on Dolphin and Trump. Arora said that this service will cost 99 per month and it will provide 20 channels excluding the fashion and religious channels. The announcement comes in light of Government owned MTNL's announcment to reduce its broadband charges by half. The company has taken this step in order to grab more users in the nation capital. According to the PSU by MTNL, they will offer customers high speed (2 mbps) Internet access at a monthly rental of Rs 99 and 150 mb free download. This price is 50 percent of what MTNL was charging earlier. Users can also opt for the scheme of 149 per month where they will get a free download of 400 mb. These plans will come into effect from Aug 15. MTNL has also reduced its tariff plan of Rs 899 to 599 by 34 per cent that would be available to customers from September 1. According to company's Executive Director, Delhi, AK Arora, this reduction is going to attract more customers towards the service. MTNL already has 2.6 lakh broadband customers in Delhi.
