MBA grads to face entrance test for jobs
Kolkata: MBA graduates will need to appear for entrance tests in order to bag their dream jobs from February 2011. A computer based screening test will be put to place by the All India Management Association (AIMA). This is being planned to assess if the graduate is equipped with the desired skill sets to become an effective manager. The AIMA test score will be accepted by big recruiters like Deloitte, Nokia, Lenovo, TATA Communications and others. Sanjiv Goenka, President, AIMA said, "In the job market, recruiters are faced with the daunting task of choosing the right candidate and fresh management graduates need counselling to pick the right job which suits their skill-sets, interests and capabilities. This test will help both the students and recruiters." The test is called Management Aptitude and Skills Test (MAST) and will be 150 minutes long. It is devised to test the candidate's management aptitude, domain knowledge in areas of specialisation like finance, marketing, HR, international business, operations & IT and assess their personality traits such as leadership, handling stress, decision-making skills, stability and teamwork abilities. The first version of the test will be conducted on February 20, 2011 across India. AIMA hopes that this test will benefit the recruiters in many ways like by presenting them with a detailed analysis of the skill-sets a candidate possesses, which, in turn, is expected to reduce the end-recruitment time and costs involved. The concept of MAST was developed based on a study by IMRB on behalf of AIMA.
