LogicaCMG Bangalore facility gets SEI-CMMI level 5

BANGALORE: LogicaCMG’s offshore services business in Bangalore has achieved the Software Engineering Institute’s (SEI) Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 5 certification (staged representation). The assessment was carried out by KPMG. CMMI is a single framework of standards that guide an organisation to improve quality and reduce software development costs by using reliable and repeatable processes. SEI-CMMI level 5 is the highest level of maturity in the world in the SEI-CMMI scale. Mike Weston, chief executive, offshore services division, said “The prestigious SEI-CMMI level 5 certification reinforces our commitment to deliver quality to our customers and marks a major milestone in our ongoing quality journey. ” K.K. Raman, director and lead assessor, KPMG commented, “The CMMI appraisal for LogicaCMG offshore services was conducted in accordance with SEI’s Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI) Version 1.1. He added, “LogicaCMG’s offshore operation will continue to benefit from its focus on process improvement and will integrate its experience and lessons learned into its processes on an ongoing basis. I wish them all the best on their future quality journey.” LogicaCMG’s offshore services division in India is rapidly expanding its current workforce of over 1200 to around 2500 by April 2006. The offshore division performs a wide range of applications management, product development and support work for LogicaCMG’s customer base in the UK and Europe. Its clients include T-Mobile International and Britannia Airways in the UK; large financial services institutions in the UK and the Netherlands and a leading automobile company in the USA. In addition, it has also expanded its domain capability to service clients across all market sectors of the LogicaCMG group – telecoms, finance, industry, transport, energy and utilities and the public sector.
