NEW DELHI: Lifetree Convergence Limited, one of India's leading mid-size software development and services companies, Friday said it has bagged a $5 million contract from a Brunei-based telecom firm. As part of the agreement, Lifetree will design and deliver an "integrated customer care and billing system" for pre and post paid telephone service users of DataStream Technologies, said a company statement issued here. Lifetree will lead a consortium of partners including Sun Microsystems, Wipro and Hughes Software Systems who will jointly implement the turnkey solution for DataStream Technologies. The implementation of the solution, which will be completed over a period of five years, will result in a single bill for all nine DataStream group subsidiaries and lines of business, the statement added. Lifetree will use its proprietary billing platform @Billity 3.0 to replace DataStream's multiple billing, operations support system and customer relationship management applications. "This deal is a significant validation of our belief that Lifetree's product @Billity 3.0 is best-in-class in its segment," said Atul Chopra, chief executive officer of New Delhi-based Lifetree Convergence Ltd. "This deal is also a significant win for a made-in-India software product brand and for a business model that is very different from the more familiar services model," Chopra added. Lifetree manages two software software development centres in India - one each in New Delhi and Bangalore. It operates in markets across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Africa. The company's customers include Hong Kong's Sunday Communications, Shell Mobile, Reliance Infocomm, Spice Communications and Dubai-based Mashreq Bank.
