Lenovo to have India innovation center

Mumbai: Lenovo launched its first India innovation center in Mumbai with a lieu to expand its Indian operations. This is the only third innovation center after the one in U.S and China. The India center has been established in partnership with Intel, Microsoft, LANDesk, IBM and Cisco. A company spokesperson informed that Lenovo is looking at a customer centric model to pool resources from its partners as and when required. "By pooling resources with our partners, the center will serve as a collaboration venue for providing fully integrated solutions," explains Neeraj Sharma, MD, Lenovo South Asia. He also added that the company is open to partnering with other companies for specific domain capabilities in the innovation center. The company news release mentioned that the center would deploy globally developed solutions to specific customer requirements in addition to developing solutions required by Indian customers. Deepak Advani, Senior Vice-President and Chief Marketing Officer Lenovo, informed that the company considered channel expansion in the consumer space to be its growth strategy for the future. Not providing adequate details he added that targeting the semi urban areas would be their future options.
