Bangalore: Larry Ellison, the Co-Founder and CEO of Oracle Corporation, isn’t just another billionaire. He is everything from the movies to romantic novels. Forbes reported Larry to be the fifth richest person in the world, with a net worth of $33 billion. Larry, a self-made man who came with modest beginning enjoys money like no other. With a love to collect cars, airplanes, yachts and real estate, he has an ego the size of his fortune. Apart from spending vast amounts of money acquiring stuff, Ellison says and does so many outrageous things. Humorous stories about him have always been reported, some true and some not. As reported by Business Insider, few of his outrageous stories are mentioned below.

Larry often spends past his billion dollar credit limit: If considered true, at least as of 2002, San Francisco Chronicle reported that as a part of a shareholder lawsuit, a judge unsealed e-mails between Ellison and his personal financial advisor, which revealed that the advisor admonished Ellison for his spending habits. Ellison known to be the spend thrift that he is, regularly pushed his credit limit of more than a billion dollars to its max in buying yachts and homes, the e-mails said.

Who would ever think of a ‘billion- dollars’ on credit?

Larry once paid $40 million for the next-door mansion so he could cut down its trees: Ellison had sued his neighbors in Pacific Heights over their trees. Reason - as the neighbor’s trees grew, they began to block Larry’s sweeping view! Though this is not fully true, it was seen that at one point he did offer to buy the house for $15 million (about double what they paid for it), reported Wall Street Journal. Unfortunately, the neighbors who themselves were millionaires, refused. The two then eventually settled out of court and rumors did the rounds that Ellison bought the house for $40 million. Larry, through his tree lawyer, denied this. He was quoted saying "No one has ever offered to sell me the house next-door for $40 million or any other price.” “If someone does offer to sell me the house next-door for $40 million or an amount anywhere near $40 million I will not buy it."

So does Larry seriously have a tree lawyer? The answer is - Yes, he does.
