L &T bags 420 M flyover order in Oman

NEW DELHI: The Gulf based subsidiary of India's engineering major Larsen and Toubro (L&T) has bagged a 420 million order to build a flyover in Oman. "The flyover will be constructed at Al Khoud for the Muscat Municipality of the Sultanate of Oman," the company said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Monday. "The flyover will be built by L&T Oman LLC, with technical support from EEC, the construction division of L&T. Parsons International Company LLC will provide consultancy services," the statement said. "The flyover will be a three-lane elevated corridor running to a distance of over 3.2 km," the statement said. The flyover is to be completed within 16 months. Within India, L&T has bagged two major orders from private sector major Tata Steel. As part of a consortium, comprising German steel major Outokumpu-Lurgi Metallurgie, L&T will be undertaking a turnkey project valued at 2.35 billion for Tata Steel. While not giving details of the project, L&T stated its share would be 1.58 billion. The second order bagged by L&T is for revamping a high-tech blast furnace for Tata Steel. The order is valued at 798 million, the company stated.
