HYDERABAD: Production-ready networking software company LVL7 has set up shop in India with a development centre here. The North Carolina, USA-located company will invest $5 million at the facility over the next two years to create the software centre of excellence , it said on Saturday. The centre's geographic location gives LVL7 an important operational advantage, thanks to the time-zone differential that will also help the company provide 24X7 service and support to its customers, it added. The subsidiary incorporated as LVL7 Systems will enhance the company's FASTPATH software portfolio that leverages silicon programmability and enables networking equipment vendors to reduce product development cycles by six to 12 months, saving an estimated $1.5 million in cost. “The Hyderabad cetnre will be a great complement to our engineering team headquartered in North Carolina,” Al Bender, CEO, LVL7, was quoted as saying. By the end of the year, the staffing at the centre will number some 30 plus engineering and technical specialists devoted to development work in networking protocols, including routing, switching, quality of services, multicast etc. The number is expected to grow to 80 plus during the mid 2005, the company said naming Prabhat K Bhagvandas as the managing director of LVL7 Systems.
