LIC increases holding in HCL Info

NEW DELHI: IndiaÂ’s state run Insurance giant Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has purchased 18,174 shares of HCL Infosystems during September 14, 2002 to September 20, 2002. This takes the current shareholding of LIC in the company to 16,09,595 shares or 5.04 per cent of the total share capital. As of June 30, 2002, the promoters stake in HCL Infosystems stood at 63.43 per cent, while institutional investors, including UTI, owned 7.99 per cent stake. Around 22.59 per cent of the equity stake lies with the Indian public. The company`s shares were trading at Rs 92.45, down from its opening level of Rs 94.00 yesterday.
