LAVA Tablets at 5500

Bangalore: The low cost tablet market is growing bigger by day and latest to join the bandwagon is Lava, the Indian based mobile manufacturer who plans to launch its android based tablets into the market by February 2012.

The new tablet will be priced at https://www.siliconindia.com/images/rupeesymbols/rs.small.jpg5500 and will come bundled with a service provider’s connection. According to Lava’s Co founder and Director S N Rai, it won’t be available as a standalone device.  The tablet will be a standard 7 inch, based on android 2.3 with a 1 GHz processor. He also added that the company is finalizing its talks with Intel for providing the processor for tablet.

Based on reports, the company who was supposed to launch the tablet in December this year is working on a wide range of onboard apps and features for making the tab a big success.

The world’s cheapest tablet “Aakash” launched by DataWind in association with Indian Government was expected to touch the markets this week, have made it’s buyers till January 2012 for the delivery.  

As the competition in the tablet field tightens, the dominant companies in Indian market like Samsung, Dell, BlackBerry and Asus will be forced to reduce the price without compromising quality giving the consumers, a privilege of choosing from a wide range of options.
