Bangalore: As an attempt to promote the R&D activities in the country, Edu.In, Tumkur University and Jain Research Foundation conducted Knowledge Utsav, an initiative to promote R&D in different sectors, held recently in Bangalore.

While inaugurating the conference, M.V.Rajasekharan, the former Union Minister of State for Planning and MLC, stressed the importance of collaborative efforts to promote R&D in the country as it was lagging behind the western world. "The industry has to engage the universities at different levels of research and be liberal in funding R&D efforts. Universities in the western world have been the platforms for research for various industries and they have been mutually beneficial," he added.
