HYDERABAD: Co-founder of Sun Microsystems, and general partner of venture capital firm, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Vinod Khosla will be visiting Hyderabad on February 20 this year, reports Economic Times. This will be Khosla’s maiden visit to Hyderabad . As one of the original founders of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), Khosla’s visit to Hyderabad is being timed with the relaunch of the Hyderabad chapter of TiE. He will also meet budding entrepreneurs and companies. The Hyderabad TiE chapter has been lying low for more than two years, with the lull in the activities reflective of the mood of the IT industry. With the IT industry now bouncing back, TiE has commenced restructuring of the chapter. As the current president of the TiE chapter, Srini Raju, chairman of i-Labs, will pass on the mantle to J A Chowdary, president and CEO of Pinexe. Chowdary, who heads the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce, Hyderabad chapter, will be taking over as the new president of TiE Hyderabad chapter on February 20. Speaking to the daily, Chowdary confirmed the relaunch of the TiE chapter which will be followed by a series of distinguished lectures from technology leaders. “The chapter has been inactive for sometime now, but with the industry bouncing back we are making an effort to relaunch it,” he said. Apart from meeting entrepreneurs at the TiE meet, Khosla, who is also on the governing board of the Indian School of Business (ISB), will visit the ISB campus and the Satyam campus at Bahadurpally. As general partner for Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Khosla’s firm has interest in SEEC, an enterprise solutions provider that enables companies to reduce the risk, cost and time of transforming legacy applications and modernising business processes. SEEC has a development centre and marketing office in Hyderabad .
