Keane to invest $25 M in India

HYDERABAD: IT solutions and services company Keane India Ltd., reiterated plans to boost its resource base, infrastructure and facilities with an investment of $25 million over the next two years. According to Keane India MD, Parmindar S Miglani, the company has already embarked on its expansion plan in India and is in line with its projection of growing to 5,000 employees by 2005 across three centers – Hyderabad, Noida and Gurgaon. "Of this 3,000 will be in IT and the rest in Keane Worldzen – the company’s BPO outfit," said Miglani. The current employee strength of the company is 1,300 of which 625 are in Hyderabad. "We have already expanded Hyderabad facility by 38,000 sq. ft, which comes to an additional 350 work stations," informed Miglani stating that 50 percent of the $25 million will be spent on expansion this year. Tracing over 100 percent year-on-year growth of Keane India, Miglani said that the company would grow both organically and inorganically. Early this year, the company entered the BPO space through the acquisition of 62 percent stake in Worldzen, now referred to as Keane Worldzen, which employs 300 people. The company has been recently assessed enterprise wide at Level 5 of CMMI. "Hyderabad, Noida Gurgaon – all our ADCs have achieved this quality milestone after independent assessment by SEI-authorized lead assessor from Global Systems Technology Inc Dr Richard Waina," informed Miglani. He added that the company would now strive to achieve its next milestone PCMM.
