Karnataka State Best IT Export Awards Announced

Bangalore: At a function organized by STPI, Department of IT, BT and S&T, Government of Karnataka, the Karnataka State Best IT Exporter Award for 2006-07 were announced at The Hotel Ashok. These annual awards are conferred in recognition of the industries' contribution to exports in the field of software, hardware and ITES. Speaking on the awards, J Parthasarthy, Director, STPI said that It endeavors to highlight and commend encourage companies that are contributing to the state's export. As a part of this endeavor, they have added two new categories - Best Employer for Physically Challenged and The Best Employer focusing on employment program for the socially and economically weaker sections of society. "India has been ranked the fastest-growing ICT market in the world for the third year running - a strong testimonial to the increased leverage of ICT by the domestic industry. Karnataka is the largest contributor to this achievement. I want to congratulate all the nominees and winners on this occasion for your commitment and vision," says M N Vidyashankar - Secretary IT, BT and S&T, Government of Karnataka. Infosys and Wipro bagged the best Best IT Exporter :Top Two leading Companies under the Major Indian Company (MIC), where as Tata Consultancy Services and i-flex Solutions won the certificate of excellence. Acropetal Technologies and Crossdomain Solutions bagged the best Best IT Exporter: Top Two leading Companies under the fastest Growing SME Companies category whereas Iteamic and SoftJin Technologies won the certificate of excellence. Various other companies were also awarded for the best IT exporters as well as certificate of excellence foe different categories like Foreign Equity Company, ITES/BPO Companies Indian Cos, ITES or BPO Companies Foreign Equity Cos, Semiconductor or IC Design Company
