Jet Airways forges pact with Air Canada

New Delhi: Jet Airways, India's biggest private carrier, on Wednesday announced a pact with Air Canada to offer passengers seamless air travel between the two countries via London on a single ticket. Following the code share pact, passengers can fly between Mumbai and Heathrow on Jet Airways operated flights and then continue on to Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal and Edmonton on flights operated by Air Canada. "The arrangement also includes Jet Airways' flights from Chennai to Toronto that will be operated in code share with Air Canada," said a statement issued by the Indian carrier. "Additionally, passengers will enjoy frequent flyer benefits on the code-shared routes on accrual basis as well as seamless transfers with through check-in and interline e-ticketing," the statement added. "Jet Airways' code share agreement with Air Canada will offer greater choice of destinations and enable passengers to fly with greater convenience, flexibility between India-Canada," said Jet Airways chief executive Wolfgang Prock-Schauer. India and Canada have long-standing ties in tourism, business and education and both carriers can now leverage their strengths to better serve the existing and tap the growing passenger traffic between the two countries, the statement said.
