Mumbai: India's largest private carrier Jet Airways (India) Ltd Friday said that it has become the first Indian airline company to implement an automated electronic payment risk management solution. Jet Airways has tied-up with CyberSource Ltd, a leading electronic payment and fraud management solution provider, to manage and streamline its online risk management process and reduce fraud. The carrier said that CyberSource, a wholly owned subsidiary of California-based CyberSource Corp, has been selected to manage its online payment for its proven flexibility, reliability, scalability and reputation in the payment industry. "CyberSource's solution, Decision Management, will automatically elevate transactions in real-time, and based on a combination of rules determined by Jet Airways, the airline is able to estimate whether the online ticket purchased should be accepted, rejected or reviewed. All this happens within a span of a few seconds," the company said in a statement Friday. The airline said that the rules could be updated at any time via an easy-to-use business interface. "This flexibility enables to continually adapt fraud screening strategies to meet the unique requirement in the marketplace," it said. "We have implemented CyberSource's solution, Decision Manager, which we believe will help us take proactive action on suspect online ticket purchases, thus reducing fraud," said Gaurang Shetty, vice-president, marketing, Jet Airways. "We have been working closely with Jet Airways to understand fraud trends in India and to help ensure that our solutions meet the unique requirements of this market. Our experience in the airline industry, together with the robust and scalable nature of Decision Manager, were key factors in securing this contract," said CyberSource's head of client services Akif Khan.
