Jaipur Awaits NRI's for Pravasi Bharatiya Divas

Bangalore: Jaipur will be hosting the 10th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas from January 7th to January 9th. The theme of the event will be ‘Global Indian-Inclusive Growth’, where around 1,500 NRI delegates from 65 countries will make it to the function.

Famous speakers of Indian origin from different countries would give their valuable feedbacks on the topic. Ms. Kamla Persad Bissessar, Prime minister of Trinidad and Tobago, will grace the event as the chief guest. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will inaugurate the function and President Pratibha Patil will deliver the concluding speech.

Personalities like Lord Khalid Hameed, Chairman of Alpha Hospital Group and Sam Pitroda, the man behind Communication revolution in India, will speak on the occasion. The city would also witness entrepreneurs like Lord Karan Billimoria and Lakshmi Niwas Mittal. Seminars on ‘Solar Energy Investment and R & D’ and ‘Social Entrepreneurship-Water’ will also be arranged.

 The PBD gives the Government an opportunity to feature the state as a reasonable destination for investment. ‘’ Rajasthan will definitely benefit from PBD. The people of Indian Origin (PIO) will be coming to the country and we can expect they would have some ideas in their mind. It will benefit all the sectors of state, including industry, hospital and tourism," Nitin Gupta, director of CII said.

Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, which was established in the year 2003, is sponsored by the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs of the Government of India and Confederation of Indian Industry.
