Jaiprakash Associates net up 44.5 percent

New Delhi:Construction and Infrastructure group Jaiprakash Associates Ltd Monday reported a 44.5 percent surge in its net profit for 2008-09 at 
881.22 crore from 609.67 crore the previous fiscal.
The company's turnover reflected a similar growth at 44.2 percent from 3091.15 crore in 2007-08 to 4,458.5 crore last fiscal.
During the fourth quarter, JP Associates, which also has interests in hospitality, power generation and cement sectors, witnessed a 83.1 percent rise in profits at 385.32 crore from 210.41 crore in January-March 2008.
The company declared a second interim divided of 30 paise per equity share with a face value of 2.
