JP Morgan to launch MF biz in India MUMBAI: JP Morgan Asset Management has said that it plans to launch a mutual funds business in India and has appointed Krishnamurthy Vijayan as designate Chief Executive Officer to lead the proposed unit. The business, which is expected to be launched in the second half of 2006, will provide mutual funds to institutional and retail investors in India through third parties, including local banks and registered financial advisors. Vijayan, who will report to the JP Morgan Asset Management Asia-Pacific head, David Hsu, has over 20 years of experience in the mutual fund industry. He was previously the Chief Executive Officer of JM Financial Asset Management Co Pvt Ltd, investment managers of JM Financial Mutual Fund.
