HYDERABAD: JBoss Inc., an open-source based Application Server Provider (ASP), today announced the launch of JBoss support services in India. Brad Murdoch, vice president of services, JBoss Inc. said, “India is a strategic market for us and we are hoping to encourage the adoption of open-source tools in a big way. To begin with, public sector units are quite promising from a business development perspective.” JBoss Application Server has around 8,000 to 20,000 active user base globally. The company is also looking at fostering partnerships with large system integrators, ISV's, and also to establish a strong developer community base. The company is looking at undertaking product development from India in the long run. “India has a vast developer community and we want to establish a strong community base here that could be later used for further development. Globally, we have around 3,50,000 registered developers,” said Murdoch. The ASP is aiming at having more than four to five system integrators and increasing the revenues from India to eight to 10 percent by 2007.
