Israel to assist Andhra Pradesh in IT solutions

HYDERABAD: Israel will work with Andhra Pradesh in developing IT solutions in agriculture, healthcare and intellectual property rights. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who is currently on a visit to Israel, has formed a six-member joint committee comprising state government officials and representatives of an Israeli consultancy group to work out modalities for the cooperation in these sectors, it was announced here Tuesday. The committee, headed by Finance minister Y. Ramakrishnudu, would also come out with an approach paper. Naidu, who witnessed a presentation made by the consultancy group, said efforts should be made to ensure optimum returns to farmers for their produce. Agriculture is dominating the three-day visit of Naidu, who is keen to adopt latest Israeli technology in agriculture and irrigation. Naidu, who is heading a high-level delegation, reached Tel Aviv from Italy, where he met the Formula One chief to woo the premier motor racing event to Hyderabad. According to a statement from the chief minister's office here Tuesday, he visited an Agri-Tech exhibition in Tel Aviv on Monday and met industrialists from the agri-processing sector.
