Kerman (Iran): Iran plans to build the world's largest artificial beach in this provincial capital city in central Iran, an official said Wednesday. Director of Kerman's Ashkan water park Arash Salehi said that the 60,000-square-metre project is to be constructed at a cost 160 billion rials ($16 million) and it would be larger than the world's largest artificial beach at present, called the Ocean Dome, in the Japanese city of Miyazaki that has an area of 56,000-square-metre. Salehi added that a water park would also be built in the Kerman within seven months and added that Iran has talked to some Indian and Chinese experts for carrying out the project. Kerman, some 1,076 km south of the capital Tehran, is a popular tourist hub.
