LAHORE: The laying of the Iran-India gas pipeline via Pakistan will change the economic situation in the South Asian region, Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz Sunday said, reports Online news agency. "This gas pipeline will be an assurance of revival of bilateral ties between the two countries," Aziz told a visiting trade delegation from India. The issue is mired in diplomatic controversy as India is not in favour of the Pakistan route for the Iranian gas fearing disruption of supplies at crucial times. Aziz also stressed the need to take more steps for a congenial atmosphere to build confidence between the two neighbours. "This objective can be attained by increasing bilateral trade," he added.
