Bangalore: Intel, the chip maker is all set to land in the world of tablets, with its Intel Atom Z670 processor. The processor has been code named as Oak Trail and will be debuting in tablets of Acer, Asus and Lenovo. So far the race of Smartphone and tablets has been dominated firmly by ARM processors but soon the market is likely to be shared by Intel Oak Trial processor. Acer is rumored to hit the market with its oak trial processor tablets running on Android 3.0 Honeycomb in the coming summer of July. Micro-Star International (MSI), a global technology company is speculated to arrive by the end of 2011. Soon the bandwagon will be joined by Lenovo and Asus. Fujitsu is one more company that has adopted this processor and the company is now taking pre-orders for its Oak Trail tablets. The host of tablets that will feature oak trial processor is likely to be displayed at "Computex Trade Show" at Taipei, China next week. Intel spokesperson Suzy Ramirez said, "We are seeing success today with the Intel Atom processor Z670, formerly code-named 'Oak Trail,' in a variety of designs from leading OEMs." Apart from the CPU, the processor has a video decoder and graphics core and is likely to offer longer battery life without sacrificing performance compared to earlier Atom chips.
