Bangalore: The annual conference of Intel Asia Academic Forum starting in New Delhi from Wednesday will deliberate on the role of public-private partnerships in building a world-class talent pool and promote adoption of emerging technologies. The three-day meet will serve as a platform for Intel technologists, industry experts and academia from across Asia to exchange ideas on latest technology trends and challenges faced by stakeholders, according to a statement issued by Intel India here Tuesday. With talent becoming a critical differentiator for nations, about 100 delegates from Asian countries will chalk out a strategy to create a talent pool that is globally competitive. The theme of the meet is "Accelerating Innovation & Research on Emerging Technologies". The delegates participating in the event are from China, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan and Vietnam. The forum will also discuss the challenges faced by emerging markets in broadband and adoption of IT in rural areas, with case studies of projects developed by social entrepreneurs for technology intervention at the grass root level to improve the quality of life. "Countries need to encourage, incubate and drive timely adoption of academic research and innovation by the industry. The convention is aimed at creating awareness of global technology trends and foster an environment for interaction and collaboration between academia, industry and government," Intel India president Praveen Vishakantaiah said in the statement.
