Bangalore: Innography, an Austin firm that helps companies manage their patents, has raised $6.5 million in series A funding. Austin Ventures led the funding round with Hunt Ventures of Dallas. Hunt Ventures is the group that gave Innography its initial seed money in 2007 to launch its software. Since its formation, Innography has built a base of 25 name brand customers and is now poised to accelerate sales, marketing and development. "Innography has developed a compelling product that gives organizations a strategic view of the IP landscape for capitalizing on growth and revenue opportunities," says Chris Pacitti, general partner at Austin Ventures and Innography board member. "We believe Innography is positioned for long-term success as they simultaneously enable their customers to do the very same." Innography's software helps organizations correlate patent data, allowing them to generate new sales prospects, expose liabilities and aid in other arenas.
