Infy loses to TCS in M-Cap

MUMBAI: TCS, IndiaÂ’s biggest software exporter has toppled Infosys in terms of market capitalization. It has also emerged as the fourth biggest corporate entity in the country. The market capitalization of TCS was Rs 91,769.20 crore against Rs 91,399.77 crore of Infosys. In terms of company listing, Infosys has moved to fifth spot, slipping down one position. Old economy giants like ONGC, Reliance Industries and NTPC have retained their top-three positions on the list. IndiaÂ’s third largest IT exporter Wipro stood at sixth position on the list, down from its fifth position. Wipro's market cap stood at Rs 70,107.73 crore, while that of Satyam Computer was Rs 23,542.37 crore. Satyam was placed at 25th position on the top-100 list at the end of today's trading session. Infosys had slipped to 10th position on Thursday, despite strong Q1 results posted by the company earlier this week. Infosys' share price had soared by more than 7 per cent on Wednesday, when the company had announced better-than-expected Q1 results and had raised its FY07 guidance.
