Infosys to invest Rs 50 cr in Kerala

BANGALORE: Infosys Technologies has expanded its operations in Kerala. It will invest Rs 50 crore in a 1,250-seater campus. The Kerala government recently gave the company 50 acres of land in the new Special Economic Zone in Trivandrum.`The investment climate in the State has been favorable and in the first phase, we intend to start work on the software development center upon full clearance from the SEZ," Infosys chief mentor N.R. Narayana Murthy. The company will invest additional 100 crore in the second and third phase and the capacity will go up by 2,500 seats, he added. The company at present employs 550 at Trivandrum. The company recently announced it would grow its operations in other cities due to paucity of space in Bangalore.
