During 2010-11, the company plans to visit fewer colleges as compared to 600 this year. "In the current fiscal, we have said that we would be hiring around 20,000. Assuming reasonable growth rates and an attrition rate of 10 percent, we think we would need a similar number next year," said T.V. Mohandas Pai, Board Member and Head of Human Resources at Infosys Technologies. He expects that industry-wide hiring to be around 250,000-300,000 next fiscal.
"The overall scenario seems to be improving. It is safe to assume that lateral hiring next year would be higher than what it is now," added Pai. Over the next 3-5 years, he expects that the salary hikes to be moderate across industries. "I would be very surprised, if double digit hikes are given next year," he said.
As on October 1, Infosys gave promotions and salary hikes of seven to eight percent for Indian employees and around two percent for overseas staff.
