Bangalore: Infosys Technologies has planned to cross-sell its BPO services with the core banking product Finacle to generate more revenue from financial sector customers and also enter into the new markets. Infosys BPO, the $300 million back-office services arm of the IT major, will align with Finacle, the banking solution business to provide its services to the latters' customers. Amitabh Chaudhry, CEO, Infosys BPO said, "We are trying to see how we can work with Finacle to provide our various services." Infosys BPO, which gets large chunk of its business from North America and Europe, will now have a chance to enter into markets such as Middle East, Central and Eastern Europe through Finacle. The banking solution business of Infosys, Finacle, has got a dominant presence in India and outside of the country. It has bagged orders in emerging market regions such as the Middle East, Africa and Eastern and Central Europe. According to Chaudhry, they have already started having conversations with the clients of Finacle to provide their services, which are generally after the product is implemented. Some of these include the transaction services and value-added activities of Infosys BPO. For many banking customers, adopting Finacle is a part of their strategy to enter a new market, and this is where Infosys is hoping to make some gains. Chaudhry says, "Many of these banks are interested in their services that can effectively manage the transition especially in the area of data management and analytics." In the quarter ended September 30, 2009, Infosys BPO registered revenue of $71.3 million with a net profit of $16.3 million. On the future prospects, Chaudhry said that they are seeing certain degree stability in the BPO outsourcing market, though they are still cautious about the overall environment.
