Infosys 8th fastest growing tech firm in U.S.

BANGALORE: Bangalore-based software giant Infosys has stormed into the Business 2.0, top 100 fastest-growing technology companies in the U.S. Ranked at No 8, the recent billing has cemented the company's growing clout in the global outsourcing sector.
In 2004, a Financial Times-PwC annual survey of the world's most respected companies ranked Infosys 62nd. Moreover, Infosys is 37th in the list of companies that created most shareholder value.
For Infosys, the survey says that the Indian software biggie has staved off challenge from Accenture and IBM by opening its own consultancy in the U.S. Both Accenture and IBM have ramped up their Indian operations by hiring programmers and call center representatives in India.
