India's Aptech leads in IT training in China

Chennai: An Indian company, Aptech Beida Jadebird IT Co Ltd, has emerged as a leader in the IT training market in China. The Aptech joint venture in China captured 32.1 percent of the market share in China in 2006, up from 27.3 percent in 2005, says the latest International Data Corporation (IDC) report. Aptech has been operating successfully in China as an affiliate of the Beijing University since 2000. This is for the fifth consecutive year that an Aptech group company has been selected as leader in training the Chinese. Aptech ranked ahead of other players, including India's NIIT (with 7.6 percent market share), Xinhua Computer Education (with 4.6 percent market share), Qinghua Wanbo (with 3.8 percent market share) and Si Yuan IT Education (with 3.7 percent market share), the IDC report said. In China, Aptech has over 250 centres in 57 cities. It has trained over 200,000 students there in the last five years.
