Bangalore: Amidst the financial crunch, insurers in India are in a favorable state with Indians preferring insurance over the fixed deposits. As per a survey 54 percent of people in the country prefer to invest in the different insurance schemes while only 34 percent opts for fixed deposits. But above all, the Indian mind is glued to Gold as 58 percent consider it to be the best investment option. The findings are revealed by a survey conducted by U.S. based marketing information company Nielsen, which saw a response from around 1000 people across the cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. Witnessing the growth of the Asian markets, people are also of the view that the impact of the global financial turmoil will wither away within the next six months. Almost half of the respondents believe that it will take one-six months before this financial crisis gets over, while another one-third thinks that it might be at least 7-12 months.
