Indians at Top Positions in US Business Schools

Bangalore: Many of the leading business schools in the US have Indians in the top position. Their numbers are growing and they have also proved successful in upholding the career of business students.

Soumitra Dutta is the recent one to have joined this thriving group of Indian-American professors heading business schools in the US. He was elected to the post of Dean of Cornell University’s Management School. He is an alumnus of IIT-Delhi campus where he completed his BTech in electrical engineering & computer science securing second rank.

Other Indian mentors holding top positions in US business schools include-

Nitin Nohria who is the dean of the Harvard Business School, who graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology, and has a Ph.D. in management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Sunil Kumar was elected as the dean of Chicago Booth school of Business, previous year. He has an engineering degree from The Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore and he completed his PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.

Jaishankar Ganesh was appointed as the dean of the Rutgers school of Business-Camden. He completed his Ph.D. in marketing and international business from the University of Houston and MBA from the same university. He is graduated in instrument technology from the Madras Institute of Technology, Anna University.

IIT has played a prominent role in the successful careers of many of the entities in charge of superior posts in US management education circuit, who have their roots in the IIT campus.
