New Delhi: In a move that will ease processing of travel and visa documents for inbound tourists from Singapore and boost tourism and trade ties between both the countries, the Indian High Commission in Singapore has hired Quoprro Global, a subsidiary of Cox and Kings India Limited, to start visa and passport services. According to the mandate given by the Indian High Commission, Quoprro Global will accept all visa applications for India from Singapore nationals and other foreign nationals, who are residents of Singapore, as well as passport applications for Indian nationals residing in Singapore. According to Quoprro Global sources, outsourcing of visa and passport services is a growing trend among Indian missions abroad to skirt the red tape and reduce the time taken in processing passport, visa and travel related documents. The move is aimed at boosting inbound tourism and bilateral ties between India and Singapore, they said. We are happy that the Indian High Commission has selected Quoprro Global to provide visa and passport services. We have put in place the best process to implement a secure, safe and efficient service for those coming to our centre, chief operating officer of Quoprro Global Bharat Jagasia said. Jagasia said visa processing was a very competitive business and his firm had the necessary expertise in the travel domain. Moreover, most of the countries around the world are outsourcing such activity and we thought it was the right time to enter this line of business, Jagasia told IANS. Visa services will be provided in the categories of tourist visas, transit visa, business visa, student visa, conference visa, entry and employment visa. Passport services will include issuance of passport, cancellation of passport, addition of spouse name, extension of validity, and change of address and date of birth, among others. We are a subsidiary of Cox & Kings and it works independently. So, it is Quoppro Global that will process visa application forms. Cox and Kings would not have anything to do with it. There is a separate team that would run this subsidiary, Jagasia said. Headquartered in Mumbai, Quoprro Global has spent the last two years researching this complex subject and has created the best processes to implement a fast and safe processing module.
