BANGALORE: Indian developers excel in software development and communication skills. They, however, lack subtle skills like bonding, said the vice-president, developer relations and chief evangelist at Borland Software Corporation, David Intersimone. Unlike their western counterparts, Indian developers are less prone to forming interest groups. Brazil, for instance, has a very large Java group, while US has several software language groups. As Intersimone’s job is to interact with software developers across the globe, he has deep insights on the software development community. Intersimone told The Economic Times that although China, Russia, Brazil and some East European countries have skillful programmers, their inadequate English language skills, and small base, prevents them from being a serious threat to India.
