Indian cabinet approves legal cooperation pact with China

NEW DELHI: The Indian cabinet Saturday cleared the signing of an agreement with China for cooperation in legal affairs. External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha had signed a memorandum of understanding on this on June 23 in Beijing during Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's China visit, said Parliamentary Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. The agreement provides for exchange of information on legal matters and exchange of best practices in the field of justice, among other areas, she told a press conference after a cabinet meeting here.
